Inbreeding: resulted in serious issues and conditions for child populations that came from inbreeding families. Thought it was linked with incest: mixing of genes produces flexibility within the species in order to adapt and have variation, people can be born without ability to reproduce. There are many tissues that contribute to either the embryo or extraembryonic tissue. Extraembryonic tissue is responsible for supplying the embryo and helps differentiation to occur. Fourth week originates in the umbilical vesicle and migrates through gut endoderm to coelomic epithelium of gonadal ridges: made from primitive ectoderm cells of inner cell mass, while traveling, they undergo lots of replication. Gonads made from somatic cells + germ cells: different cells contributing to different structures, once pgcs reach gonadal ridge, they move in with epithelial cells, lost their motility, and start differentiation.
