You must take appropriate measures with the design to ensure that you will get quality results. You have predefined the target problem & do not have to worry about the rigour of a systematic review. The purpose is to synthesize and critique the findings. You want to be as inclusive as possible in the initial search strategy. Always conduct a quality assessment of the study based on methodological criteria. A scoping review is similar, but doesn"t discard methodologically faulty studies. Start with a systematic review for assignment. You can apply methods from systematic reviews to comprehensive reviews. Consider if the research relates to your topic. Research involves creating new knowledge, it doesn"t have to be completely original - if it is not, you must add something to the existing knowledge. This is where we test the applicability of our selected theory - you then do formative research.
