Starts w/ cognitive processes within the person, and then we try to move it outside of the person"s mind. Problem behaviour = playing violent video games (consuming violent media). The argument: some believe violent video games have a causal relationship w/ violence. Believe that if they remove the stimulus, school violence will go down. Sct is useful for breaking down a big problem into smaller ones. On exam, if you had define this, literally just read the title it"s self explanatory. People shape their environment & their behaviour; and the enviro shapes people & their behaviour. In sct, you"re not using just a part of this theory, you"re using all 3 points of the triad. The social attitudes towards smoking = community/society environment. Smoke-free campus bans use of smoking on campus = policy/legal. All of the smoking areas have been moved off of campus = infrastructure.
