When i can"t take care of myself anymore. When i can"t understand what the younger generation is saying. When other people start calling me old. Views of aging range from being negative and full of fear to basis on longevity and quality of life in older adulthood. We use numbers to determine whether you"re eligible for certain resources or programs (i. e. canada pension at age 65) This can be problematic and insufficient because not everyone at the same age is the same or is living in the circumstances. Heterogeneity there is so much variation among ages; may age very fast or slower than usual. When there are changes in physical appearance (wrinkling), mobility (loss of muscle mass), mental capacity (there are some cognitive abilities that older adults are better at) Middle age is considered for people who are raising children. Later adulthood is often associated w/ declines in physical ability.
