Planning models: visual representation and descriptions of steps in the planning process. Many types of planning models have been developed over the years. Most have common elements with different names. A composite of what is represented in most of the other planning models. Collecting and analyzing data to determine health needs of a population (can also help identify priority populations and help determine priorities) Figuring out what the needs are: setting goals and objectives. Identifies what will be accomplished: developing interventions. The means by which goals and objectives will be achieved (the how). (note: interventions are also called programs ) Process of putting interventions into action: evaluating results. Focuses on improving the quality of the intervention and determining the effectiveness of the intervention.
