Anglicans vs. puritans: religious divide between anglicans and puritans, puritans are hardline calvinists, they fixate on certain elements of calvinists. Focused on predestination: puritans are bothered that anglican church retained a lot of similarities to past catholic practice. Want to remove catholic practices and rewrite anglican church: puritan strength was found around lower tiers of aristocracy, and london (have a political voice through parliament)
