Very volatile, abrasive, impatience, and this was made worse by alcohol and drugs hire him. (e was frustrated he couldn"t make the movies he wanted to no one would. They end up on the run from the law, the climax is the main characters. It was an anti-western, it was a critique of the war in the nam (an allegory) It takes place in the west and it evolves around an aging group of gunfighters walking down this village, and all the village people are behind them helping them. Angered the movie industry by leaving to work in tv. He made a movie deliberately about vietnam, movies about surgeons in the war, dark humour but clearly about the war and how bad it is.
