The 2008 election is one of the most important in american history. Closer than one might"ve expected the election to be. After 8 years of bush administration, anyone running for republicans was defending a legacy . John mccain was 72 y/o former pow hero. Was true believer of free market system and tried to tell people that system was working just fine. Ha no idea what was going on b/c had no job experience in free market system: barack obama running for democrats idea that anyone could beat republicans after bush. Knows little to nothing about economy but more than mccain. Had a difficult life struggle to make it but found his way to harvard and colombia. Had a different experience from john mccain didn"t know what was really going on but suggested something needed to be fixed. United states facing 3 existential problems: humiliation of iraq hasn"t won a war since 1945.
