Deiniion: studies the ways in which social relaions, social ideniies and social inequaliies are produced, their spaial variaion, and the role of space in construcing them. Social relaions: relaions between people as individuals, groups and insituions. Social ideniies: the meanings people atribute to themselves and others: gender, race/ethnicity, class, age, disability, sexuality, and others , major markers of who we are as people. Social inequaliies: the unequal distribuion of, and access to, power, opportuniies and resources. Producion of relaions, ideniies, inequaliies: the economic, poliical, and cultural processes that produce, reproduce, sustain and modify social relaions, ideniies and inequaliies. Spaial variaion: the change in social relaions, ideniies and inequaliies between and over space. Rule of space in construcion: locaion maters: spaces ofer more, less or similar opportuniies, resources and power, the greater the wealth, the greater the life expectancy.
