The gap between the sexes continued to narrow. We are becoming more active in out leisure time, males slightly more active than females. The british have more leisure time than canadians. Leisure varies over time: 1900: average work week 53 hours, 1999: average work week 42 hours. Recreation: activities willingly performed after discharging of employment duties & social obligations (what one willingly does during leisure time) Tourism: temporary movement to destinations outside normal home & work place, the activities undertaken during the stay, and the facilities created to cater to their needs.
