Geography 2060A/B Lecture Notes - Lecture 5: Mordecai Richler, Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, Frank Lloyd Wright
Document Summary
Before we begin our study of the substantial nature of cities, there are a few conceptual notions worth going over. Ideally, we should be fully educated to observe, measure, and record data and the like; and we should have strong conceptual basis. Before doing a city"s course, one should take a course in logic, research methods and conceptual frameworks. In fact, such a course should be taken before most other courses. So, barring that, let"s just put forth a few conceptual notions to keep in mind as we proceed to look at the substantive material on cities. As an expedient add on to the course, there are six points that i want to cover briefly with you: Venn diagram: the difficulties of identifying and classifying human groups. Here are a few comments about each of the five points; and i am keeping them simple and short. The pyramid applies to individual countries and to the world as a whole.
