Ontario has the largest population of canada"s regions. Despite recent downturns, the centre for canada"s economy remains anchored in ontario. Why: sheer size of the population, median personal income is well above the national average, greatest cluster of cities, universities, and technological/research centres, central location within north america with several high traffic border crossings to the us. In terms of land area, ontario is larger than 85% of all countries. Only 7% of the province"s population lives in northern ontario.
