The division of a large area into different parts. You take the whole land and you divide it into parts to make it easier. Some countries are more prone to regionalist than others. Only about 4 or 5 that are prone to regionalism. Because of the vast geographic size and varied physical geography of a country. The bna act (1867) gave considerable power to the provinces. How we became a separate country from britain. This act gave specific power to the provinces (s. 91/92) Region: definition: a distinctive area of earth"s surface. It has distinguishing human or natural characteristics that set it apart from other areas: the boundaries of regions are related to faultlines. Instead, they are differences between 2 different areas whether it be geographical, cultural, etc. Approaches to identifying regions: provincially defined region: Choose an area of provinces (ex: atlantic canada)
