Mainly located in the cordillera physiographic region. The northeastern part of bc is located in the interior plains physiographic region. The mountain ranges in bc are aligned on a northwest to southeast axis. The insular mountains are located just off the coast of bc and form the backbone of haida gwaii and van. Island: central plateau lands are found between mountain ranges. Temperate rainforests are found along the coast. Semi-arid conditions in parts of the interior. Victoria is in the rainshadow of the insular mountains. The pineapple express is a flow of warm air in the winter: originates in hawaii, keeps bc mild, but very wet. Summers in van. and victoria are mild and relatively dry. Regions of bc 7 regions (1) van. The coast mountain range is the most prominent physical feature. Fjords are common along the coast inlets/canyons filled with water along the coast.
