Document Summary

Everywhere is different i. e. there is spatial variations across all space. No two spaces are the same and as individuals we have different experiences of place. Geography is concerned with the study of how observable spatial patterns evolved through time. Spatial: spatial variations in the places we live in. Geography likes to look at how spaces have changed throughout the years. Human geography involves two basic endeavours: need to establish facts (geographic literacy, need to understand and explain the factors (geographic knowledge) Literacy: how the climate changes over the years and which places are experiencing the most impact. Without that information, cannot address the issue and try to solve it. Understand why is global warming occurring and try to model it and see why it is occurring. Others: distance, region, diffusion: how things move from place to place. Absolute (objective): heart of mapmaking and spatial analysis. Relative (perceptual): socially-produced and subject to change.
