Various degrees of acceptance and rejection in our dealings with others : maximum inclusion : others seek us out because they want to be with us active inclusion : welcome us but not seek us out. Not invite us but admit us if we show up. Passive inclusion : allow us to be included. Ambivalence : they don"t care whether we"re around or not, neither accept or reject. Passive exclusion : others ignore us but not avoid us.
