For harriet, this story is more like fraudian story (not romanticize children life) We are invited to see through harriet"s eyes (from children"s point view towards adults) Sport"s mom literally left her son (may his mother giving financial supports) Sport does all cooking, laudry, controls family budgets by buying food. Otherwise, his father would spend all the money. Not sport"s dad but he is the one who handling the money forced into adult role. This is not fantasy role but realistic view of child. Both of sport"s parents show absenty parent quality. Unlike sport, harriet has parents who can provide supports. Harriet"s parents do not have an idea of what harriet likes. Neither of her parents even recognize what she is going through. When old gally left, that was the major crisis of her but none of her parents realize this. A lot of wealthy paretns who are busy with their life and not have time.
