The siblings are outsiders, katniss, peeta, and the other tributes are outsiders to the lifestyle of the capitol: the struggle to develop an identity. Growing up, coming of age, and discovering one"s own identity: alice in wonderland, alice doesn"t know who she is as she arrives in. Either willingly (meg), or traumatically (anne, katniss) Con ict: capitol is keeping the districts under complete control, blindness. Everyone recognizes that the production of the goods by the districts and the consumption of goods by the capitol, lack of equality. Isolation within their own districts: propaganda: history of the uprising. Rising up violently to overturn this system is recognized from the beginning; 74 years have gone by without an uprising/revolt.
