Beings that have been forced to live in hostile conditions on a foreign planet, compelled to work for humans, and when they are hunted down by bounty hunters (comparative to slaves) The threat that the androids pose to the humans- why are they so freaked out. Naturally occurring dispositions are exposed to be artificial concepts. The disconnect between these groups of people or things kept the distance of power over. The one who passes them threatens to reveal, dissolves the limits, makes it no longer clear, why we have the disconnect. The novel never allows us to see the world from the viewpoint of the androids. The novel is all about how the humans wonder, think, ask questions about them. Androids are objects of analysis, to be studied, separate from us. Androids do not struggle with the question of human life but if they do we don"t get access to it.
