Something that the creature says to victor changes victor. The creature in this passage is you writing this essay. He has to convince someone else that his story is worthy of their attention, and he uses his words. Essays are used to move a reader to another opinion. Victor is swayed into hearing the creature out. Diction and syntax is just as important as the deeper meaning in the text. Not just the stories, but the way the stories are told. Sometimes words don"t mean what you think they mean. Oxford english dictionary(oed) is the authoritative source for words, gives you the meanings of words over time, and see how words have changed over time. The novel very rarely uses this word, only a couple times. He is usually called a creature abhorred monster- something that moves you, you are sickened by it.
