Core recovery = "the ratio of the length of core recovered to the length drilled. Rock quality designation (rqd): "rqd is a version where they add up all the intact pieces that are longer than 10cm in length, and divide them by the total length drilled" Petrographic number: a classification of rock based upon it"s composition and aggregate quality. Def: loose solid particles that originate from: weathering and erosion of pre-existing rocks chemical precipitation from solution. So like, he said that we don"t actually have to use this classification. The only reason why he showed it to us was to emphasize the highlighted part at the bottom. There are many different standards of classifying sedimentary rock internationally. Def: natural processes that round and sort of sediment. Classified based upon the degree of sedimentary sorting. And then there are other classifications like well rounded and stuff.
