We deal mainly with fossils and the types of organism they represent, focusing on the invertebrates. Paleontology or paleobiology is one of the fundamental disciplines of earth science. There data is crucial for many fields such as: 3. 5 billion years ago life started to originate. During the next 2 billion years life evolved very slowly and only certain groups of bacteria existed. Beginning of the cambrian is when life started to evolve very quickly which makes us think that something must have been happening. A lot of early organisms were soft bodied and did not leave great impressions in fossils. They all ended up dying at the beginning of the cambrian time.
