How is sound recorded: computers have a sound card which converts the the sound wave from a microphone (analog to digital: sound card has: Quality of sound is dependent on the following criteria: sample rate, sample size, channels, codecs. Sample rate: # of samples taken in a second. Number of times/sec that the waveform is measured. 1000 samples per second = 1 khz (1khz = 1000hz) Mono signal one channel ( stream) of data reproduced equally on both speaker channels.
