Various types of roman religion/spirits: deities: sky god; war god. All gods that romans had adopted greek god personas. Replaced by greek stories: animistic spirits: numina. Some wanted certain rituals to them: family ancestors and spirits. Believed the same thing about families as above: personal magic. You, as an individual, could practice what is like magic, over all the above: romans had a pious and pragmatic toward religion. Always fulfilled obligations they had to the spirits. They tended to believe in gods if it benefited them/rome. Kept track of holidays and made sure nothing was forgotten. Relief depicting roman games: fla(cid:373)e(cid:374)(cid:859)s specific gods. The people who lead the procedures for rituals. Look all over society and nature for omens at specific times. Ex. before wars to see if they should battle today. Could interpret lighting, strange events, etc: the 15 men. 6 books total, given to them long ago by king.
