Lab 1: the crayfish and measuring ectothermy (relationship between temperature and metabolism) Lab 2: barley and level of photosynthesis -> temp and level of photosynthesis. Lab 3: studying the mouse and endothermy (regulation of body temperature) -> temperatures effects. Make sure to dress appropriately labs take place at chem 390 and bring your lab manual. Take the animal ethics quiz before october 4th. Theme: form and function and how they respond to temperature. All animals generate energy (after they have taken in energy) Organisms must absorb nutrients in order to survive. Important to compare animals and look at the differences and similarities. Researchers use animals as models to discover cures for different diseases.
