Linear chromosome contains a locus that codes for lsu and ssu (2 separate genes), genes are intact. Strategy for mass production: tandem repeats on one chromosome or several copies of the same chromosome (polyploid) Note: the nuclear genes are not expressed in individual units in all species. Sometimes, the genes themselves behave as individual units and are expressed individually (not in organizations) But certain species have a speci c organizational system. Contains linear, fragmented chromosomes in the nuclear genome, but contains unconventional characteristics. 2 different nuclei & 2 different nuclear genomes (different than the nucleomorph genome) Chlorarachniophyte alga (4 genomes, nucleomorph came from green alga, from rhizarian lineage) and oxytricha (4 genomes, 2 nuclear genomes, 1 mitochondrial & 1 chloroplast from alveolates lineage) have different evolutionary history.
