Understand the central dogma of molecular biology. Be familiar with the basic structure of the amino acids. Know the 4 classes of amino acids. Describe the bond that holds amino acids together to form proteins. Established belief or doctrine: authoritative and not to be disputed, doubted or diverged form. Weights ranging from 5 kda to several thousand kda. Not always scienti cally proven to be true. Examples: the earth rotates around the sun, smoking is the primary cause of lung cancer. Nucleic acids (dna & rna) > proteins. Refers to the way that genetic information is stored + retrieved. Proteins are one of the most abundant molecules in living systems.
