Document Summary
Vector (number and direction): displacement, velocity, acceleration. Speed: tell us how far in a certain time: e. g 100 km/hr. Velocity: also requires a direction: e. g 100 km/hr eastwards. Acceleration: change in velocity in a certain time (whether the change is speed, direction, or both) Units: meters per second per second (m/s^2) You can feel acceleration whereas you do not feel constant speed. After 1 second, the object will be moving with a speed of 10 m/s, after 2 second, it will be moving 20 m/s, and so on until it hits the ground. Mass: the amount of matter in an object. On earth, we often think about this in terms of an objects weight, but this is not correct; mass and weight are different, but related. The acceleration of an object due to gravity is independent of the mass of the object. You can demonstrate this for yourself with balls of the same material but of different weights.
