Swedish/norwegian can understanding but sociopolitical reasons for differentiating. Varieties could understand written but different speaking. Bigger languages are getting more speakers (unification), smaller languages are losing speakers. 7-level modelfor classification of languages: number of speakers, functions, regions of influence.
