Acb lecture 22 (11) bony pelvis and muscles of the abdomen. It attaches lower limbs to the axial skeleton and will distribute the weight. Femurs form ball and socket joint w pelvis. Starts off as 3 separate bones, on each side, and then it fuses together prior to birth. Sacrum also forms a joint w the pelvis: acetabulum is the socket part of the ball and socket joint, that fits the head of the femur in it. Ischial tuberosity you are sitting on it right now butt bone. Ilium: looking at one side of the pelvic bone looking from the inside, articular surface w the sacrum where it connects pelvis to the sacrum. Lateral(cid:9)view: long straight portions of the bone, rami contributes to that obturator foramen. Should be able to feel asis and psis. Sciatic nerve comes through the greater sciatic notch and supplies the muscles in posterior aspect of thigh and calf.
