Anatomy and Cell Biology 3319 Lecture Notes - Lecture 35: Subclavian Vein, Clavicle, External Jugular Vein
Document Summary
Describe major branches of thoracic & abdominal aorta. Describe arterial blood supply to lower limb. 6 locations at which arteries are superficial enough to take a pulse. Compare & contrast arterial and venous supplies to upper and lower limb. Note: abdominal aorta has inferior phrenic branch as well: subcostal artery supplies rib 11 & 12. Abdominal aorta comes below the diaphragm, through 1 of 3 openings: the other 2 openings are for the esophagus & inferior vena cava, comes out at the level of the t12 thoracic vertebrae. Branches of the abdominal aorta (superior to inferior) Inferior phrenic artery supplies diaphragm from underneath: middle suprarenal artery supplies adrenal glands, *celiac trunk first major arteries coming off. Supplies: liver, stomach, spleen: *superior mesenteric artery second major artery coming off. Supplies small & large intestines: renal arteries, gonadal arteries goes to gonads (ovaries or testes, *inferior mesenteric artery third major artery coming off.
