In the 1800s, the forms of knowledge was very different; there was a transformation of knowledge: notions of the creation of the earth, darwins publication in 1870, 1900s, einsteins theory e=mc2. It identifies the way in which society functions: equilibrium= looks at how society develops overtime (gradual development, one of the problems with equilibrium. It ignores issues of conflict, racism, and inequality: set of lenses. Interpretive paradigm: we socially construct the world, qualitative methods; conducting interviews or surveys, there"s more than one way of seeing the world, depending on our views, we see reality in different ways. It is like a conversation or dialogue: we can analyze small groups of people such as how we communicate with people and the different methods we use to communicate and build relationships. Idea of focusing and understanding a problem: need to find a practical solution, multimethod- using multiple methods.
