Document Summary
Ethics is the distinction between what is good (ethical) and bad (unethical) It is easier to perform ethical research with adults than it is with children. An added level of ethics must be maintained when a study involves humans or vulnerable groups. Two huge ethical violations are fraud and plagiarism. Plagiarism is the use of another individual"s (or one"s own) work without crediting that individual. General knowledge is not required to be cited. Tcps (tri-council policy statement): cihr, sshrc, nserc concerned with ethical treatment of human participants. These organizations possess an abundance of money used to fund research projects. Tcps core principles are: respect, concern, justice. Respect: there cannot be pressure for an individual to participate in a study (coercion). The roles of the participant must be provided. All of this information is conveyed through an informed consent form. Informed consent form: you are being asked to participate in a research study .
