Particular to general start with a specific detail and demonstrate how it can be applied to more broad topics. Help reader progress from one significant idea to the next. Help create a sense of flow between sentences and paragraphs. E. g. , first, second, third, for example, moreover, furthermore, in addition, finally, etc.
