However, there is no harm in us thinking of them as being the same families (i. e. , to understand the point about different alleles, at one msat locus, being linked to different mutations at the. Thus it appea(cid:396)s that o(cid:374)e allele (cid:449)as(cid:374)(cid:859)t expressed. I have been using the terms family and pedigree as if they are the same thing. I suppose that"s imprecise, because a pedigree, one could argue, has many families.
