Document Summary

Plasma membrane; is the lining between the outside environment of the cell and the living cell"s insides. Channel proteins are apart of the specialized structure of plasma membrane. The basic features of eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells must have. Dna coiled into a region called a nucleoid. They are 1/10 the size of eukaryotic cells. Bacteria has been the workhorse for understanding eukaryotic cells, because they perform a similar synthesis to eukaryotic cells and they are much easier to cultivate and test on, then animal cells. Free ribosomes are ribosomes that are suspended in cytoplasm. Bound ribosomes are attached to the endoplasmic reticulum. Associated with proteins packed in certain organelles. Ribosomes interact with mrna to build proteins. Mrna is the step between dna and rna where information is transmitted. The messenger rna is mrna that is ordered into amino acid sequence in a polypeptide (protein) Each messenger rna has a specific sequence that formats into a specific protein.
