Everything is beautiful, pop art is everything andy warhol. The term pop art was first used by the english critic laurence alloway, he was part of the independent art group, that met at the ica in london to discuss cultural changes in the age of technology. Between the 1950"s and the 1960"s, technology inspired an artistic movement. This is tomorrow (1956) (cid:314) first gallery to feature pop art in the white chapel gallery in london. Pop art was said to be a reaction to ae or action painting : ae was anti-figurative and anti-realist. It reflected what was within the artist (his psyche) rather than the outside world. Pop art: response to the outside world and popular culture, it represents the beginning of the post-modern era: the result of the industrial revolution and a succession of technological revolutions. It is a celebration of fashion, democratic idealism and machine-age optimism.
