1890"s: a time of many new inventions: long before radio was a thing, people knew about the telegraph and telephone > therefore expected the invention of radio, everyone saw radio coming, they imagined it. 1910: they basically had the technology but it wasn"t practical/reliable. Ww1 1914 - 1918: fostered new tech and development, but everything was kept a secret > a lot of money and tech was put in the invention of radio in the war time but only for war use. Post ww1: radios introduced to the general public. Xwa: very first radio station in the world - in canada. Technology was there, people expected it to be there, the war kept it down for a tad but also invested in the invention of radio > radios became extremely common after. By after ww1: more people had radios than electricity > radios did not require to be plugged in (battery powered)
