Lack of employment is associated with physical and mental health problems that include depression, anxiety and increased suicide rates: high stress jobs make people more vulnerable to chronic diseases, high demands and low control leads to stress. Education: people with higher levels of education tend to be healthier than those with lower educational attainment, helps people to move up the socio-economic ladder, gives people power and agency.
