A result of what ppl have sometimes called a population explosion . People adapt to living in communities of widely varying sizes. People desire food, air, water many things. Factors that affect society"s population: fertility, migration, mortality. Population growth continues to be an issue (2 opposing views) Population size matters: on the negative side, a large population puts more pressure on the natural environment than a small population does. Problem: technology extraction of mineral resources climate change: on the positive side, a large population is also more likely to invent new technologies and develop new ways of producing food wealth.
