Movement between employment and unemployment is very common. A great many people experience uncertain work and financial conditions. Movement between higher and lower social positions is also very common. Social mobility is the movement of people in(invisible) social space. It is difficult to define and measure these imaginary locations. An attempt to learn about the links that tie that classes together. The study of people who move up and down, between what our society defines as better and worse social positions. Upward mobility: measures opportunities for advancement in our society. How open society is to talent from below. E. g. , church, military are the places that provide people. E. g. , church, military are the places that provide people opportunities for upper mobility. On the one hand, we tend to think our society has particularly high occupational aspirations. On the other hand, there is evidence that, around the world, people tend to aspire to the same kinds of things.
