Social movements are more notable form of resistance usually in order to reduce inequality. Ex: g20 protest, june 2010 was organized to fight against capitalist exploitation and global poverty. Few businesses were vandalized, longest mass unrest in canadian history, mostly peaceful rallying, police criticized for brutality. Students are in perfect position to protest as they have more time and less to lose in terms of wage-earnings. Internet is a great provider for flexible and tactical possibilities for social movement. Can defend to undermine current social order. Influences behavior wherever people are concerned about presenting honor and motivated to avoid shame. I. e. people need to care about the gossip for it to be effective. Usually aimed at defaming people at higher status or class. Ex: gossip about rich/famous balances cosmic justice.
