A lot of the shape of our lives are defined by long term relationships by choice or by force (workplace relationships) Study of the bonds created by individuals with one another. Another way of putting it: who do we mean when we say all of us , we demand , and we would agree . Social groups a collection of two or more people who interact frequently with one another and share a sense of belonging. (frequent interactions over time) Can also say they are composed of set of people who identified one another, and adhere to defined norms, roles or statuses. Primary groups groups where norms, roles, and statuses are agreed upon but not put in writing (house rules aren"t written down) Social interaction leads to strong emotional ties, extends over long periods, and involved wide range of activities. Result in group members knowing one another well.
