Lots of time spent between rogozhin and myshkin. Nastasya was supposed to marry rogozhin but she ran away for. Myshkin arrives back at station --> mirror of beginning of novel. Conflict with nephew about debt that is owed. Lebedev is on the wrong side of history. Does not want to make a choice and become finalized. Threshold - about to get married but will not. More afraid of myshkin than she is of rogozhin. Myshkin reminds her of her own fall / original sin. Doesn"t have to redeem self if with rogozhin. Being with prince would involve reckoning or transformation --> have to fix self. Myshkin does not know how to deal with humiliation. Attempt to be in control of how they appear. Nastasya attempts to control --> self punishment vs. liberation. Quote from book of revelation - time will be no more. Diminishing of myshkin throughout novel every time he has a fit.
