Tutorial group and location will be posted by monday september 28th. 1800 words, 4-6 pages, due nov. 11th: midterm 20% 45 minutes, class time (ex 100. 300) on october 20th: final exam 40% 3 hours, december exam period: tutorial participation 10% Environment as an interdisciplinary pursuit: human environment is the common ground between culture, society and nature, and touches sectors that range from biology, physics, math, religion, art, literature, history etc. Recognition of the existence of different levels of reality governed by different types of logic is inherent in the transdisciplinary attitude. Meaning, there are different ways of viewing the world. A scientist will see it a certain way, through his knowledge and studies. Complements disciplinary approaches, does not strive for mastery of several disciplines but aims to open all disciplines to that which they share and to that which lies beyond them.
