Government tends to air on the side of consumers more than producers. Auto companies borrow lots of money, if they go bankrupt, they will default. The economy will goes into a longer and worse recession. Many companies have their own problems already even before the recession, running inefficiently. Anti-bailing people say the government bails out the efficiency of the auto families. )f one company fails, the others may be bigger and the jobs will be transferred.
