All scientific organizations have consensus on basic science of climate change. There is zero ambivalence in the science world that climate change is happening: has more evidence than any other scientific theory. Creates a perception of debate in the public"s minds. There is really no debate on the fact that climate change is happening; the only debate is on the details about it (i. e. how long, how bad, etc) Media presents the sides as 50/50, but its actually like 999:1. Most people don"t want to deal with the technical stuff, so they don"t try to understand. Most of environmentalism has followed conservationism/reducing consumption: makes sense environmentally, but it"s not sexy, people see it as self sacrifice.
