Document Summary
Physical disorders significantly component caused by psychology (thought). The most significant environment of psychopathology is stress. The most significant (probably) biological element of psychopathology is genetics. The most common way people deal with stress is ignoring it. Health psychology is a subfield of psychology that is concerned with how psychological and social variables affect health and illness (one of the fastest growing sub-disciplines of psychology. Psychological health directly related to physical health (and vice-versa) Heath psychologists develop programs to reduce the levels of risk factors related to diseases. Hans selye (canadian) developed the concept of stress as the nonspecific response of the body to demands to adjust a wide range of changes. Hans was interested in the bodily responses to a wide range of variables. Change causes stress because it throws you off of your equilibrium. People are constantly striving for equilibrium with their environment. Impossible to avoid stress because environment is always changing.
