Document Summary
Thursday, december 3rd, 2015 - sf2202 5pm 7pm. We have particular thoughts, which plays a major role in feeling really good or bad. Then we cognitively become more complex: our cognitions give us freedom and power, because although they can be externally triggered (situational relevance), they can also operate independently of that, gives us flexibility, freedom to choose, etc. It"s really hard to do this because we experience this as though our thoughts are ourselves, and we look at the world through this lens. It"s easier to step outside someone else"s narrative construction of reality and see it for the illusion that it is: e. g. , evolution of language that"s sick . When we look at narrative constructions of these words, they seem completely meaningless unless you share that meaning of reality. That relationships we can have with narrative constructions is incredibly useful. Most of our suffering comes from our negative constructions of reality.
