Document Summary
Prenatal and infant development are both heavily affected by environmental factors (teratogens) The infant can be affected by the environment before they are born. Amount of physical touch infants receive is important for their brain development (even if they are premature) The amount of the emotional grounding and responsiveness a kid receives affects their achievement and relationship outcomes for decades. Like any other stories of children like this, the kids learn pretty quickly and then plateau. Being a functional human, is more like a skill than an innate ability. We learn it through practice (language, culture and affection) We used to think that motivation was the reduction of primary drives. Attachment is the bond that develops between the caregiver and child. The enlightenment saw humans as cognitive people, but psychology has dismissed this. Once we fully grasp the implications of our emotional nature, then everything emotional-behavioural connection. Even very young infants have highly interactive relationships.
